About Me...
I began my journalism career as a teenager at the Detroit Free Press. From the moment I walked into the building I knew that writing and reporting the news was what I was meant to do. The smell of ink and the adrenaline of deadlines took me from The Kansas City Star to The Washington Times to Slam Magazine, where I was a senior writer. My work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Politics Magazine, USA Today, Newsday, The Washington Post and on web sites ranging from The Root to NBC Sports. Since 2009, I have served as the Assignments Editor for EDGE Magazine. A Howard University graduate (BA Journalism), I have covered politics, culture, and current events...and every major sporting event except for the Super Bowl and the Olympics. My base of operations is the Philly–DC corridor.
